Speaker: Dan SchoepfWeekend: September 16-17, 2006 listen to the message Those of us who work with churches have often quoted Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together.” Our desire is to motivate people to be physically present for worship—more than a turning of the radio dial or a punching of the remote for the TV. But meetings for the believers in New Testament days involved much more than times designed specifically for worship—the vertical part of the Christian life. It was in those smaller groups that “poking” each other and supporting each other really happened—the horizontal component. The Bible makes it clear that as we near the time of Jesus’ return we have increasing responsibilities toward each other. Is it possible to really pull this off? |
