Here we are in church on another Fathers’ Day. But there is a man in your life who doesn’t go to church—a father, a husband, a brother. If he does go, it means very little.
Are men the enemy of the church? Why do many men hate church? What are the things men like? How has God creatively designed men? There are some simple answers to those questions.
We want to celebrate the men who come to Calvary. They are critically important! |

What is the main thing at Calvary Church? Why are we here? What impact on our community do we project for the future—especially during the next five years? Is our mission worth “sleeping on a cot” for?
Jesus’ call includes sacrifice. He expects us who are eternally secure to make sacrifices for those who have little clue who Jesus is.
And when on a mission we can get tired. What do we do then? |

How do you know if what you teach ever gets through?
Jesus explained how his followers should live in this world. It was a short session on the mountainside that turned the conventional thinking about the Christian life on its head.
But did any of the listeners get it?
Jesus’ conclusion to the sermon makes it clear that the real test is action! How foolish it is to listen, take notes, nod in agreement, and walk out with no changes.
Do you want to go deep into this Christianity business? Then follow through on what Jesus says!

His followers were sitting patiently, listening intently to Jesus teach about the way life is intended to be. They had been sitting there for a while so they were likely getting restless and their necks were getting tired from looking up the mountain to hear him speak. Jesus throws out a couple of warnings that surely got their attention: "Watch out for those sneaky false prophets. Just because you perform miracles and can cast out demons doesn’t mean that we have a relationship."
So, are there false prophets today? Have we gotten caught up in activities and missed the joy of a relationship with Jesus? |
