So, how many unfinished projects do you have around your home?

Do you feel like you just can’t get ahead because as soon as you complete one task another one comes into view? If so, welcome to my world!

I know that all of us struggle with this "unfinished-ness" when we look at our own lives. So, what if we could get a grip on the idea that we are what’s unfinished? Could it be that we are actually on God’s "to do list"? Do you really get the fact that you are unfinished?

Finding contentment? I have my family, a good job, a nice car, and the tornado missed my house—life is good! What more could I need?

But finding contentment while rotting in a prison cell, racked with pain, suffering the loss of a loved one, dealing with a great injustice—how can you possibly expect me to find contentment under those circumstances?

Paul, writing from prison, declares "I can do EVERYTHING through him who gives me strength." Sounds crazy. Just what kind of contentment is he talking about? Where can I find it? And what is the secret to living that kind of life?

Worry is debilitating, draining, confining, and expensive.  It is easy for us to spout out formulas to defeat anxiety, but what prescription does God give for conquering this terrible foe?

It seems that God’s solution must be applied daily.  So, one more time, in the middle of the “spasm” let’s consider the antidote.

Guess what!  Memorial Day has to do with “memories.”  We celebrate those who have given up everything to defend the freedoms of this country.  We celebrate family members who have passed from this life.

But have you ever reviewed those personal memories and interjected some “I wish . . .” statements?  Perhaps there had been a broken relationship.  Some words that should have been voiced weren’t.

What if that conflict was obvious to everyone?  What if the disconnect happens within this body we call “the church”?
