What was the temptation he was facing? Satan was offering Jesus a shortcut—a crown without a cross. What a proposition. We all love shortcuts! We want the reward without the suffering. But does the shortcut lead us where we want to go? Is there any gain without pain? We might get the reward, but what are the consequences? What would you be willing to do for a million dollars….? |
