Thank you!

I was blown away by your generosity in providing for the restoration of the ’68 Firebird! That little addition to the 30th celebration was a total surprise and caused me to give some serious "dreaming time" to that baby’s future. Yes, it is my first car, actually made in the fall of 1967 (so it is turning 40!). The kids used to fight "in" it, and now they are fighting "over" it! Hey! I’m not dead yet! I plan on using it for another 30 years!

A few months ago I had made plans to sell/junk it as it was just one more "rainy day" project sitting in the corner. A wise guy, Don Grensing, told me I should "grow up and get rid of it." (Actually I think it was "sour grapes" as he had just sold his own classic!) Glad I was talked out of that one! For the interested, I am restoring it to "stock" condition—the way it was when I bought it. I have already taken it in to the body shop. And the replacement metal is ordered. Could take a semi to haul it here!

Thanks also for the all the kind words, cards, and gifts directed toward us. Lea and I do appreciate you much!

Baptism, November 17-18

The weekend is always a highlight of the year! If you have never advertised your faith through this symbolic event, Jesus said you should! Call the church office and ask for Linda and we might still be able to get you scheduled.

Holidays

Yes, the big day is only 42 days away. Are you ready? Here is what will be happening around Calvary. We want to provide the best opportunities to invite friends and celebrate together.

· Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Go to www.calvaryonline.org for the details. Don’t miss it!

· A weekend series which will give you some biblical hands-on support for surviving the season (issues like spending, family, expectations) begins right after Thanksgiving.

· Christmas Eve—3 services for celebrating Jesus.

Spiritual Life Survey

Where are you in your spiritual development? And what are we as a church doing/not doing to aid you in that journey? If you haven’t yet completed the survey and you call Calvary your church home, please set aside the time to "git ‘er done"! If you know someone who does not have internet access, please help them fill out a survey at the library, using your computer, or at the church during office hours.

Broaden your world view?

Perspectives will adjust your vision--a vision to mobilize and equip people of God to live a life of passion and purpose as Jesus did.  Calvary Church will be hosting the Perspectives course January 14 - May 5, 2008.  A brochure is available at the info desk.

Dan Schoepf is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Church.
