(Thursday morning)

Happy Valentine’s Day!  It is a day in which we celebrate love, and we have seen many, many acts of love in the last few days.  Last night in our meeting, we shared some of those that we have seen done by team members when we didn’t know anyone was looking.  From carrying a trash can for a hotel worker, to comforting a mother and her child in the medical clinic, to building relationships with the construction workers, to comforting a young boy in the dental clinic who was scared, to being flexible within the team, we could have gone on all night with what we have seen.  We have been a unified team, and praise God for that.

The swing team continued to braid hair, fly kites, paint nails, cut hair, and love on the kids.  They did a presentation in the school to demonstrate brushing teeth, and they did fluoride treatments as well.  The whole team will be doing another presentation in the school today and we will be singing songs, doing the drama, and finishing a coloring book.

The construction team continues to build up the blocks on the church, and build the foundation of great relationships with the villagers.  They stop to pray during the day and have brought many brothers to Christ.  It has been amazing to witness.  And the medical and dental team continues to see patients and pray with them as well.  We were also able to go into some of the homes and see what they are like.

Today will be the last day in the village.  This afternoon we will have a ‘thank you’ ceremony in which we will give the people in the village some gifts and let them know how much we have appreciated being welcomed into their homes, and how much they have touched our hearts.  There will be many tears shed, many hugs and prayers.  Please pray that this is a sweet time and that it will glorify God by having two nations come together in unity.

We only have a few days left here in Guatemala, but the country and the people will stay in our hearts forever.  We are anxious to see our families, and send our hugs and kisses!
