About the job
The Evangelism Pastor will be responsible for leading and championing the evangelism and outreach ministries of Calvary Church. This role exists to help fulfill our mission of Connecting People with God by equipping and mobilizing the church to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Evangelism Pastor will provide leadership, vision, and strategy to ensure evangelism becomes a natural and passionate part of Calvary’s culture both inside and outside the church walls.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee evangelism and outreach efforts across all Calvary ministries
- Provide regular evangelism training opportunities to inspire and equip the church family
- Coordinate creative outreach events and leverage church-wide moments such as Christmas, Easter, and The Yard to share the Gospel
- Partner with ministry leaders to ensure evangelism is woven into programming, messaging, and activities
- Build and lead an Evangelism Team to model and multiply outreach efforts
- Oversee first impressions and assimilation for newcomers, helping them connect, grow, and find belonging at Calvary
- Support city outreach partnerships and compassion efforts, ensuring they remain intentionally evangelistic
- Assist in follow-up and connection processes for new guests, including Starting Point, Alpha, baptism, and small group integration
- Preach several times a year in Sunday services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bible, Theology, or Ministry (Preferred)
- Proven experience in evangelism, outreach, or related ministry leadership
- Passionate about helping people enter into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to equip others in sharing their faith
- Outgoing and relational, able to connect easily with people inside and outside the church
- Teaching and communication skills, adaptable to various settings and audiences
- Collaborative, humble team player who loves working across ministries to accomplish shared goals
