Logan Borseth | Story

I am Logan Borseth, and this is my story.

I am 15 years old. I know I don’t look 15. That’s because I was born with muscular dystrophy. Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic condition where my body doesn't make a key protein called dystrophin, which acts like glue to hold muscle cells together and protect them from damage. Without it, my muscles get weaker and break down over time, starting in childhood and making everyday movements harder.

This condition mainly affects boys like me, and while there's no cure yet, treatments like steroids and new gene therapies can help slow it down and improve quality of life. For me it seems normal, but it’s not normal. It is scary sometimes. Like not being able to walk one day.

I’m here today because I want to be baptized. I’m here to show other people that I believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart he was raised from the dead, then you will be saved."

Today, I declare that Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

I think about myself and that I have joy that others with Muscular dystrophy do not have. No one would blame me if I was angry, depressed, or acted out because of my disease. But I know Jesus. The book of James says that this life comes for a little time and then vanishes. Life on earth is short, but life in heaven is forever.

You are never alone, because God is with you. John 16:33 says, “I have said these to you that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

I’m here today to be baptized. Jesus is my Lord. I belong to Jesus. No matter what happens, I will forever belong to God.

We are not our own, but belong both body and soul, life and death, to God and our savior Jesus Christ. People get really worried about this life, but they shouldn’t because scripture says that in heaven we will have a new body.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come!”
