Bring People With You!
As one of our church leaders, you already have people in your life that you influence and lead. We’d love for you to personally invite your small group, friends, family, ministry team, or others you know to come pray with you.
Your Gathering at a Glance
A Simple Plan for the Night
Worship
Begin with one or two songs if a worship leader is present.
Read the Scripture
Read the Scripture and prayer focus assigned for that day.
Pray FOR LOCATION
Use the Presence, People & Purpose guide.
Pray for One Another
Finish by dividing into groups of 3–4 and praying for one another.
Scripture
Nehemiah 1:3–11
Nehemiah hears about Jerusalem's condition, weeps, fasts, and prays before taking action.
Pray that we may feel a burden for our town that leads to action.
Matthew 9:35–38
Jesus sees the crowds, has compassion on them, and tells His disciples to pray for laborers.
Pray that we may see our city as Jesus sees it.
1 Timothy 2:1–6
Paul urges believers to pray “for all people,” including those in positions of authority.
Pray for every sphere of the city - government, families, education, businesses, churches, and vulnerable people.
Luke 10:1–9
Jesus sends His disciples into towns and villages with the instruction: “Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest…”
Pray that God keeps mobilizing us to be His workers in the field.
Psalm 122:6–9
The original reference is Jerusalem, but the principle is the same.
Pray for the peace, unity, prosperity, and spiritual well-being of our city.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Pray for awareness, repentance and a revival in our town.
Pray for Location
Presence
Pray that God’s presence would be known and felt in this place.
People
Pray for the people who are here and the needs they carry.
Purpose
Pray that God would bring restoration and use this place and these people for His good and His glory.
A Few Final Things
RAIN?
Find a covered area or shelter. If there isn’t one, gather in groups of 4–5 and pray in your cars.
ONLY A FEW PEOPLE?
Pray anyway! The goal is faithfulness, not attendance.
